This is the perfect instant pot recipe and the beef was super tender. Lots of sauce too which is a hit with our kids. Our family loves it!
Great great recipe!!!! But the burn thingy was coming on. I did follow recipe. I did however add more liquid once’s I opened it to put rest of veggies. I scaled up bottom put back meat and added the rest of veggies and then some liquid. Felt it was not enough. Thoughts?
Hi! You can always add more sauce and glad you did. Everyone has a different preference for how much sauce they like. Glad you enjoyed the recipe!

This is the BEST pot roast recipe ever! The beef comes out so tender and it just melts in your mouth.
thanks Cristina! It’s definitely super tender and delish.
My daughter convinced me to buy an instapot while she was visiting and cooking at my house. After she left last summer, I never used it except once to cook some sweet potatoes. I am 71 and new things intimidate me, but I was in a rush and needed to cook a pot roast fast. I finally decided to try it again after I found this recipe and it turned out so delicious, I will be using my instapot more often and making this a lot. I will, also, try more recipes in it that I find on here. The only thing I changed was to add more carrots and no potatoes. I served it over rice and everyone loved it.

Nothing beats a classic pot roast for Sunday with the whole family.
Sound wonderful! What if my meat wasn’t totally thawed? Do I still brown the meat after partially thawing in the microwave?
Hi Debbie, we’ve never tried this recipe with partially frozen meat before. Hopefully one of our readers has tried it and will let us know if results!
This recipe was easy to follow and delicious! The cooking time was spot on. I used all ingredients and added more veggies, along with tapioca pudding to thicken broth.
Thanks Cathy for the feedback and that’s great that you enjoyed the recipe!
