Instant Pot Sloppy Joe Pasta Recipe @bestrecipebox

We’re always craving sloppy joes and our Instant Pot sloppy joe recipe is a great go-to recipe that’s quick, easy and super flavorful. With a big batch left over from sloppy joe recipe testing, we decided to add it to a bowl of fettuccine and everyone was blown away at how delicious it was! Sure, we could have used a regular meat pasta sauce, but the sloppy joe mixture was outstanding. Sloppy joe pasta is different from meat sauce pasta because the sloppy joe mixture is way more flavorful. With a mix of sweet and tang, the flavorful sloppy joe meat over pasta (or even rice) was a perfect combination. It’s a great dinner to have sloppy joe pasta when you’re not into a sandwich, but are craving something more hearty with your sloppy joe. And when it’s made in the instant pot, it’s even so much easier to get dinner ready on the table in less than 30 minutes. Add a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad and you have a fantastic sloppy joe dinner for the whole family. Kids especially LOVE this sloppy joe pasta because what kid doesn’t love noodles and sauce? Give this a try and now you’ll have more options to satisfy your sloppy joe craving beyond the sandwich! For Instant Pot

  • Turn Instant Pot on "Sauté”.  Add oil. Sauté onions and garlic until soft and fragrant. Add beef. Cook beef mixture for about 3 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  • Add ketchup, tomato sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt and pepper. Give the mixture a good stir.
  • Close the lid and pressure cook on high pressure for 10 minutes . (These are the steps we did for our Instant Pot: Close lid and close pressure release valve. Press "Cancel" to stop the "Sauté" setting.  Press the "Manual" button. Set the time to 10 minutes.)
  • After the cooking time is complete, press "Cancel" and carefully release the pressure.
  • Serve the sloppy joe mixture on top of the cooked pasta and garnished with the optional parmesan and/or parsley.

For Slow Cooker

  • In slow cooker add all the sloppy joe ingredients except for the olive oil (ground beef, onion, garlic, ketchup, tomato sauce, mustard, worcestershire, salt and pepper). Gently mix together all the ingredients to make everything combine well.
  • Cover and cook the mixture on low for 7 hours or about 4 hours on high. After cooked, give the sloppy joe mixture a good stir.
  • Serve the sloppy joe mixture on top of the cooked pasta and garnished with the optional parmesan and/or parsley.

Notes

Recipe was tested in a 4-quart slow cooker and a 6-quart Instant Pot.

If your air fryer is preheated or if you are cooking multiple batches, you may need to reduce timing by a few minutes (unless preheating is called for in the recipe).
