Tips on How to Make Air Fryer Pumpkin Pie Recipe

  • Use pumpkin pie spice for easiest method! Exclusive O Organics® pumpkin pie spice is flavorful and delicious. Our recipe calls for 2 teaspoons of the pumpkin pie spice, if you love flavor, add an additional 1/2 teaspoon of the pumpkin pie spice. 
  • Exclusive Signature SELECT® line of refrigerated pie dough is simple and wonderful. If you’re making an 8” pie instead of a 9” pie, you’ll have more pie crust on the ends. 
  • We like to brush melted exclusive Lucerne® butter on the edges of the pie crust during air frying. The buttery flavor on the pie crust is yummy. 
  • If you want to use a graham cracker crust, exclusive Signature SELECT® brands has a great ready-made crust. 
  • When making the pumpkin pie filling make sure to whisk the filling smooth. Remove all lumps. 
  • Love sweeter pumpkin pies? Then you can add additional sugar. We recommend starting with about 1 teaspoon of exclusive O Organics® granulated sugar to the filling. 

Recipe is for Air Fryer Oven

This recipe is for an 8” or 9” pie, which is usually for an air fryer oven. Most 6 qt. air fryer baskets or smaller don’t fit an 8”-9” pie plate. 

  • The heating element can really burn the top of the pie, so make sure to put your rack on the lowest level possible. 
  • Some air fryer ovens go through a pre-heat period prior to being ready to air fry. This often adds additional cooking time. Check on the pie about 3 minutes earlier to make sure it isn’t overcooked or burned. 

A real treat to finish off the pumpkin pie is to add some whipped cream on top. It’s definitely a favorite around our household!

Air Fryer Pumpkin Pie

Yes, it’s possible to air fry a regular size pumpkin pie! This 8-9 inch pumpkin pie is for air fryer ovens or toaster oven styles. Because the heating element will be close to the pie, you’ll get a slightly darker top than you would if cooked in the regular oven. But it’s still a great option to make pie if you’re limited on regular oven space. If you don’t want to use pumpkin pie spice you can use 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ground clove, and 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (optional).
If you like your pies on the sweeter side, you can add some extra sugar into the pie filling mixture.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Lucerne® Salted Butter , divided
  • 1 refrigerated Signature SELECT® 9-inch Pie Crust
  • 15 oz. O Organics® Pumpkin Puree (1 can)
  • 14 oz. O Organics® Sweetened Condensed Milk (1 can)
  • 2 large O Organics® Eggs , beaten
  • 2 teaspoons O Organics® Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • Optional – 1-2 teaspoons O Organics® Sugar , or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

(OPTIONAL FOR TOPPING)

  • Whipped Topping or Whipped Cream, O Organics® Ground Cinnamon

Instructions 

  • Grease an 8-9 inch pie pan with about 1 Tablespoon of butter. Lay the sheet of pie dough into the prepared pie pan.
  • Pinch the edges of the crust to form a decorative edge. Poke holes with a fork on bottom and edges of pie dough. Melt the remaining butter and brush the edges of the pie crust with the melted butter.
  • In a large bowl, combine together the pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, pumpkin pie spice, optional sugar, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  • Pour pumpkin mixture into crust. Place the pie in the air fryer on the lowest rack.
  • Air Fry at 280°F for about 40 minutes or until the center of the pie is just barely jiggly. After air fryer is turned off, let the pie rest inside the air fryer for 10 minutes to finish cooking.
  • Remove pie from air fryer and allow to cool. Chill the pie until ready to serve. Top with whipped topping or whipped cream and cinnamon if desired.

If your air fryer is preheated or if you are cooking multiple batches, you may need to reduce timing by a few minutes (unless preheating is called for in the recipe).
