How to make sliders in the air fryer {TIPS}
- Shape the meat Patties a little wider than the size of your slider bun. We like to shape them a little larger then the bun size so when the meet shrinks during air frying, they are the perfect size for the bun.
- If using lean ground beef, the patties will shrink less. Here’s a great article for different types of ground beef.
- The more patties you air fry at one time, the slower they will cook. If you have an oven style air fryer with multiple racks, alternate then halfway through cooking. This will allow the bottom rack to cook around the same time as the top rack of patties.
- You can make the meat mixture and shape the patties one day ahead of time. This prep will make party planning so much easier.
- Bring the meat to room temperature. Remove the raw patties from the fridge about 1 hour before cooking.
- Because of the sliders small size, they benefit from extra flavorful toppings. Beyond the usual tomato, lettuce, and ketchup, have fun with other sauces like gochujang, a fun BBQ sauce, or aioli. Use some fried onions and flavorful cheeses like blue cheese. The possibilities are endless!
Low Carb Lettuce Wraps for Keto Sliders
If you’re on a keto diet or low carb lifestyle, try making lettuce wrapped sliders! You don’t need the bun and all the starchy calories. Use a crisp, crunchy head of lettuce like ice berg, romaine or green leaf as the low carb bun. A platter of these is a great way to enjoy air fryer sliders more often!
Air Fryer Sliders
Ingredients
- 1 lb. (454 g) ground beef (or chicken, turkey, pork, lamb)
- 1 Tablespoon (30 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder
- salt , to taste
- black pepper , to taste
- 6-8 slider buns or rolls
Burger Toppings:
- lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion slices, blue cheese, avocado, bacon, fried onions, etc.
- ketchup, mustard, mayo, gochujang, hot sauce, bbq sauce, etc.
Equipment
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer at 380°F/193°C for 5 minutes.
- Mix together the beef, Worcestershire, and garlic powder until just combined. Divide mixture into 6-8 even balls. Lightly flatten each ball to form a small patty. For best texture, try not to overwork the patties. Form them just enough so that the patties hold their shape.
- Lightly spray patties with oil. Season liberal amount of salt and pepper on top of patties.
- Spray the air fryer basket/tray with oil & place the sliders in the basket/tray.
- Air fry 380°F/193°C for 5 minutes. Flip the patties and cook for another 1-3 minutes, or until the center is cooked to your preferred doneness or internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- For Cheeseburger Sliders: add the slices of cheese on top of the cooked patties. Air fry at 380°F/193°C for about 30 seconds to 1 minute to melt the cheese.
- For best juiciness, cover the patties and let rest for a couple minutes. While patties are resting, warm the buns in the air fryer at 380°F/193°C for about 1 minute. Serve on buns, topped with your favorite toppings.
If your air fryer is preheated or if you are cooking multiple batches, you may need to reduce timing by a few minutes (unless preheating is called for in the recipe).
