- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt , or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) black pepper , or to taste
- olive oil or oil spray , for coating
OPTIONAL TOPPINGS:
- green onions, salsa, guacamole, sour cream
Equipment
- Oil Sprayer , optional
Instructions
- In bowl, combine meat, tomato sauce, 1/2 cup cheese, chili powder, garlic powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, salt and pepper.
- Cut bell peppers lengthwise and remove seeds.
- Flip the bell peppers over and spray/brush outside of bell peppers with oil.
- Stuff the pepper halves with the meat mixture. Spray tops of meat and peppers. Lay stuffed peppers inside air fryer basket/tray. If you have a small basket, you may have to cook in 2 batches.
- Air Fry at 360°F/182°C for 12-16 minutes or until meat is cooked completely. Top the meat with remainder of cheese and cook one more minute to melt cheese.
- Serve with your favorite toppings.
Notes
If bell peppers tilt and fall over, place a small crumpled piece of foil under the pepper as a base. Cutting the peppers lengthwise will help meat cook quicker and all the way through. If. you cut them crosswise, you might need a couple more minutes of cooking time.
If your air fryer is preheated or if you are cooking multiple batches, you may need to reduce timing by a few minutes (unless preheating is called for in the recipe).
