Tips for Air Frying Breaded Pork Chops
- What’s the best seasoned coating mix brand? All these brands are very similar and differ in texture. Some are more coarse and some are more fine. These seasoned coating or breading mixes all work the same. The flavors are different so try a few and see what is best for your personal taste.
- How to moisten the pork before breading? Most of the shake and bake style seasoned breading mixes say to moisten the pork chops. We added the mayo part because it’s a nice option for extra moist chops. And it also helps the breading stick better.
- Different cuts and thicknesses of pork chops. This factor will determine your final cooking time. So you’ll have to adjust the timing accordingly when you make your first batch. After that, you’ll know what your preferred timing is based on your specific cut of pork chops and size of air fryer.

Seasoned Coatings and Tools For Air Fryer Pork Chjops
Air Fryer “Shake ’n Bake” Style Pork Chops
Ingredients
- 3 (6oz.) ((170g)) pork chops , rinsed & patted dry
- Ice water, beaten egg, milk, or mayo , to moisten the pork
- Shake ’n Bake Style Seasoned Coating Mix
- Oil spray , to coat the pork chops
Equipment
- Oil Sprayer optional
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer at 380°F/195°C for 4 minutes.
- Moisten the pork chops based on seasoned coating mix instructions (or by using ice water, beaten egg, milk, or mayo). Coat with the seasoned coating mix.
- Spray air fryer basket/tray with oil or place a perforated parchment sheet in the air fryer basket/tray & lightly coat with oil spray (this helps keep the pork chops coating from sticking and coming off).
- Place the coated pork chops in a single layer (cook in batches if needed). Make sure pork chops are not touching or the coating may flake off when you flip them. Lightly coat the pork chops with oil spray.
- Air Fry at 380°F/195°C for about 8-12 minutes. After 6 minutes of cooking, flip the pork chops and then continue cooking for the remainder of time or until golden and internal temperature reaches 145-160°F, depending on your doneness preference.
If your air fryer is preheated or if you are cooking multiple batches, you may need to reduce timing by a few minutes (unless preheating is called for in the recipe).

Freezing Leftovers
It’s easy to freeze leftovers. Just store them in airtight plastic bags or containers. You can freeze them for up to about 3 months. Don’t wait too long to eat them because they’ll get freezer burn and can dry out. Even if you store them in air tight containers, the flavor and texture starts to degrade. So when you’re ready to eat then again, thaw them in the fridge at least a day ahead. Then microwave them, sear on a pan or air fry the at 360F for about 5-8 minutes or until crispy.

Oven Fry works way better than shake and bake. It gets much crispier. The chops came out great!
