How to Make Mega Cookie in the Air Fryer {Tips}
The process of making this is so simple, there’s really no way to screw this up. The only variable is that each air fryer model cooks a little differently. So after you make your first cookie you’ll know what timing works best for your air fryer model. Best of all, clean up is a breeze!
- Do not use an air fryer model smaller than 3 qt. The heating element will be too close to the cookie. The vessels probably won’t fit in a small air fryer and it might burn the top of the cookie.
- Start cooking in a cold air fryer. If you cooked something in your air fryer previously and it’s still warm, allow it to cool completely. Starting in a pre-heated or warm air fryer will cook the cookie too quick on top and the center can still be raw. Also, it could dry out the cookie.
- After the initial base cooking time, stick a tooth pick in the cookie. If it’s “almost” cooked, then just close the air fryer and allow the cookie to finish cooking in the residual heat.
- If the cookie batter is still wet, add an additional 1-3 minutes of air frying time and still allow the cookie to finish cooking in the residual heat.

Mega Cookies in the Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 7.8 oz (221 g) Duncan Hines Mega Cookies
- 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) water (based on box instructions)
- 3 Tablespoons (45 g) butter , melted (based on box instructions)
Equipment
Instructions
- Start in cold air fryer. Do not pre-heat. If you cooked something in your air fryer previously and it's still warm, allow it to cool completely. Starting in a pre-heated or warm air fryer will cook the cookie too quick on top and the center can still be raw.
- Combine cookie mix according to package instruction. Pour the batter in to the paper pan that was included in the box kit.
- Place pan with cookie batter in air fryer basket or rack.
- Air Fry at 300°F/149°C for 22 minutes. After the initial base cooking time, stick a toothpick in the cookie. If it's "almost" cooked, turn off air fryer and leave the cake to rest inside the air fryer for about 5-10 minutes to gently finish cooking in the residual heat. If the cookie batter is still wet, Air Fry for 1-3 minutes more or until nearly cooked. Then turn off air fryer and leave the cookie to rest inside the air fryer for about 5-10 minutes to gently finish cooking in the residual heat.
- Allow to cool slightly before eating. Enjoy!
If your air fryer is preheated or if you are cooking multiple batches, you may need to reduce timing by a few minutes (unless preheating is called for in the recipe).

Cooking the mega cookie in the air fryer was such a great idea. The outside came out crispy while inside was soft and hot. I added ice cream to the top as well.
