Tips on Cooking Frozen Jalapeño Poppers in the Air Fryer
- Don’t Cook too Long. Make sure to not cook them too long or else the cheese will ooze out too quick.
- Test a Few First before Cooking a Whole Batch. All air fryers cook a little differently and all brands of poppers are different sizes. So once you make your first successful batch, you’ll know the exact timing you want for your preferred texture.
- Spread out in a Single Layer. Don’t stack the poppers on top of each others.
- You don’t need to use any oil. There is already enough residual oil in the crust from the when they make the poppers.
- Make sure to Let them Cool a Little First before Eating. The jalapeno popper centers can be super hot when they first come out of the air fryer.
- See the recipe box below for the details. Enjoy!

- Pro-Tip: here’s our favorite tools to help make air frying easier:

We LOVE Evo Oil Sprayers. Not the prettiest, but they’re functional and spritz oil great! They don’t clog up like many others we’ve bought. There’s different styles, but all seem to have the same great spray head. Works great for grilling!

There are Square Mats & Round Mats. These perforated non-stick silicone mats are used to cook food in your air fryer or steamer to minimize sticking. Holes allow hot circulating air to cook the food & keeps the food from sticking.

Parchment sheets are great for your air fryer or bamboo steamer (food tends to stick most on wire basket or tray). Choose from different sizes, shapes, white and brown (unbleached). Holes allow air to cook food evenly.

Dips to Serve with these poppers:
If you want a dip to serve, here’s lots of different options to make each batch unique and delicious. Mix up your routine and try something different!
- Tarter Sauce or Ranch Dressing or Dip
- Honey mustard dip is a nice tangy balance to the rich poppers
- Sriracha Mayo or hot sauce is awesome for an extra kick of spice.
- bbq sauce
- marinara
- cheese dip
- Try serving them with a homemade air fryer spinach dip

Air Fryer Frozen Jalapeño Poppers
Ingredients
- 6 Frozen Jalapeño Poppers
Equipment
Instructions
- Place the frozen jalapeño poppers in the air fryer basket and spread out evenly in a single layer. No oil spray is needed.
- Air Fry at 380°F/193°C for 5 minutes. Gently shake or turn. Continue to Air Fry at 380°F/193°C for another 2-4 minutes or until the cheese just starts to ooze out.
- Make sure to let them cool a little before eating. The filling can be super hot.
Notes
- No Oil Necessary. Cook Frozen – Do not thaw first.
- Shake or turn if needed. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket.
- Recipe timing is based on a non-preheated air fryer. If cooking in multiple batches back to back, the following batches may cook a little quicker.
- Recipes were tested in 3.7 to 6 qt. air fryers. If using a larger air fryer, they might cook quicker so adjust cooking time.
- Remember to set a timer to shake/flip/toss as directed in recipe.
If your air fryer is preheated or if you are cooking multiple batches, you may need to reduce timing by a few minutes (unless preheating is called for in the recipe).

I air fried a batch of these for a last minute snack. PERFECT from frozen. Thanks guys!
Awesome timing and suggestions. I added another 2 minutes because I like my poppers extra crispy. So glad I could cook this quick and easy in the air fryer.
These came out very well. I’m a brand new user, so this was encouraging, lol. They also didn’t break open and leak cheese like I’ve had in a regular oven.
This is awesome, so glad it worked out for you. Welcome to the world of air frying Lynne!
