Regardless of what your pizza crust base is, there’s so many different ways to enjoy a quick and easy pizza. From using raw pizza dough to something as simple as a flatbread or a piece of toast, there’s a pizza for everyone. Can you cook pizza in the air fryer?
Absolutely yes! It’s one of our favorite ways to make individual pizzas or for 2-3 people. The hot circulating air cooks the crust to be crispy and the pre-cooked toppings and cheese are perfectly melted and crisped. The only disadvantage to air fryer pizza is that it’s not that easy to make for a big crowd. The smaller air fryers can’t keep up with the demand. But we do have some suggestions if you want to make them for a party over a longer period of time.

How to Air Fry Pizza for a Party or Crowd
You can have fun creating a pizza bar and let everyone customize their own pizzas. It takes a little prepping and planning, but it’s definite possible! Lay out your toppings, different sauces and cheeses. Everyone can make their own and you can manage the air fryer and cook the pizzas for them. Or have one person in charge of air frying so that all the pizzas cook the same and won’t burn.
- Have your pizza base ready to go. If it’s tortillas, bread or anything pre-cooked then it’s simple to ready. But when it comes to using any type of raw dough, we suggest cutting the dough into smaller squares so they can be more personal size.
- You can also pre-cook all the raw crusts first in the air fryer. Then everyone can just add their toppings and air frying time will be much quicker. All you’ll need to do is to heat the sauce and toppings on the crusts so that saves a lot of time.
- Pizza Sauce Options: Red pizza sauce, white Alfredo sauce, bbq sauce, pesto, or any sauce that you like.
- Shredded cheese options: Mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan, Mexican blend, pepper jack
- Meat Toppings: pepperoni, cooked sausage, cooked bacon, cooked diced ham, cooked leftover or roast chicken
- Vegetable Toppings: sliced mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, jalapeños, pineapple chopped sun dried tomatoes in oil, fresh basil
How to Make Pizza with Crispy Crust?
Like many of our air fryer pizza recipes, we suggest air frying the base crust on both sides. Pre-cooking or pre-crisping the pizza base helps make it more crispy. Then once the base is warm and slightly crisp, adding the sauce and toppings on only takes about 1-2 minutes to cook. That way you have a crispy base to start with before adding the sauce and toppings. It also helps to brush a little bit of melted butter on the pizza crust and air frying it first. This adds a nice crispy edge and great butter flavor.
Air Fryer Pizzas {w/ Pre-made Crusts}
Ingredients
- 1 8" pre-cooked Pizza Crust
- 1/4 cup (30 ml) Pizza Sauce or tomato sauce
- 3 Tablespoons (25 g) shredded Cheese
- salt , to taste
- black pepper , to taste
Optional Toppings
- Pepperoni, cooked Sausage, Bacon pieces, diced Ham, sliced or diced Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Pineapple, etc.
Other Sauce Options
- BBQ Sauce, Salsa, White (Alfredo) Sauce, Pesto, etc.
Equipment
- Air Fryer Rack optional
Instructions
- Place the pizza crust in air fryer bottom side up (make sure it is in just a single layer – cook in batches if needed for multiple pizzas).
- Air Fry at 380°F/193°C about 3-5 minutes. Flip the crust over. Continue to Air fry at 380°F/193°C for another 3-5 minutes (if you want the crust extra crispy – air fry each side a couple minutes more).
- Spread the sauce over the pizza crust. Top with cheese and add additional salt, pepper and other preferred toppings.
- To keep your topping from flying around, place an air fryer rack over the pizza.
- Air Fry the pizzas at 380°F/193°C for 2-4 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted.
- Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool for a minute or two before eating.
If your air fryer is preheated or if you are cooking multiple batches, you may need to reduce timing by a few minutes (unless preheating is called for in the recipe).
